Update from Liam's Daddy

Romans 5:12-21. I have been asked and even at times wondered "why did God do this to me". Well after the times of frustration I realize this is not how or what God wanted. This is a result of living in a fallen world. God allows things to happen and to be honest there is no reason I could think that I would let this happen. Good thing I'm not incharge because this deal is and will change peoples l...ives for the better. Jesus loves you and wants to help you live for more than you, don't walk away any longer. Trust me I been there I ran from him too. But I'm done I am going to seek my potential with Gods help. Liam had an up and down day. He has been real crabby probably from coming down off the drugs. He had a hearing test and it was inconclusive, could be he just needs to rest more. We are pretty sure he can hear a least a little. Pray for his hearing and sight and that he is completely healed. Keep praying!

Praise God- Liam is out of ICU!!!

Last Night Update:

Night Post: we made it to the 'peds wing'. Talked with Liam's new doctor and it sounds like they are just still trying to figure out Liam's sodium meds (still praying he can control them on his own!) and once the meds are figured out and stable for at least 3 or 4 days then we can move out of the hospital and into the physical therapy inpatient hospital place. There they will continue to work o...n weaning him off the sedations, work on getting the feeding tube out, and of course physical therapy and stuff like that. Today, during his speech therapy, he would 'drink' apple juice off a little sponge and open his mouth for more. But when they tried a little water on a spoon he coughed and therefore is not ready to have water yet. He could control swallowing the little apple juice from the sponge thingy but not the water. Hearing test will be given either tomorrow or Wednesday. Prayer Targets: Wisdom for the docts/nurses, sodium meds (healing would be great here:), swallow test, his mind ears and eyes. Thank you Jesus for all you are doing for our little Liam. We are waiting and trusting in your perfect timing!

Hot off the presses. I just heard Liam say mom twice! This was witnessed by a nurse! Suck it Satan, God is winning. Be gone with you! I prayed last night specifically for him to speak! I don't know why I asked for that but it got answered! John15:7! So much for being dead, never getting off the vent, never moving, never hearing, we have seen enough to not even call this faith, it is common sense! Thank you Lord for you power you amaze me!

Last Night Update:
more form casey...Matthew 6:34. During this deal I have worried about things that might happen months and years from now with Liam. But the lord tells us to worry about TODAY! We can easily get overwhelmed with worry. Don't waste your time ...because you can't do anything about the future or even the past. Live for now seek opportunities to do the right thing today, tomorrow do the same thing! Praise the lord for today! Liam had a great day. Seems to have some level of hearing! He even stood up and walked with the help of some therapists! Keep praying, this lil dude is gunna change the world!

John 11:5-13 These verses are promises I am living by:) We are asking "boldly" for our Lord Jesus Christ to completely heal our little boy. I have peace that God is already 'on it' :) "...Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you." Jesus, we give you all the glory...we will "worship while we are waiting. We will serve you while we are waiting".

From Liam's mommy: Encouraging morning update: Liam is getting stronger everyday with physical therapy...they are trying to make him stand more and today (with mostly the therapists doing the work) started to make him walk...they are getting his sodium levels under control ( we are praying he can control it on his own!!) they are also figuring out his sedation levels and what works best for his li...ttle body to wean off. He seems to be responding to sound a lot more today..keep praying!! his eye (the other eye doesnt open well) seems to be trying to track noises today....keep praying for his sight!! Keep praying friends ...God's doing big things (and I truly believe He's just getting started!) Thank you Jesus:)

oh and...the doc said that we will probably leave the ICU and go downstairs to the regular Peds floor Monday or Tuesday

Last night updates on Liam

Psalms 23. This one is short I promise. Even in the darkest times God is there and he will comfort us. God never leaves us, we leave him. Thank God Liam was able to rest today! They kind of have the sodium thing figured out, so that is good! Liam is blind and we aren't sure about his hearing. Pray that the Lord heals both of those things! I know he can! Keep praying

Luke 18:1-7. Sometimes I sit here and pray for my son to be healed. It hasn't happened as fast as I want, but I keep praying. Does this mean God is not listening? I don't think so, everyday there is big or small answer to prayer. The key I believe to is to pray and believe in the mercy and healing power of God, without stopping! From these verses it seems that the woman had faith everyday that her request would be granted. If she didn't why did she go back? Please friends don't get weary or tired of praying for Liam. God can do this and I believe he will. Waiting sometimes is hard on us humans! Keep praying keep the faith

Feeling so blessed and overwhelmed again by the generosity and support from our friends and community. Thank you all, everyone, who helped out and/or attended the benefit last night for our sweet little Liam. We feel so very loved and words just can't express really how much that meant to us! Please continue to pray for Liam and believe with us for a complete healing. Thank you Jesus for holding us during this time and using others to show your love for us!

Updates on Liam

doct update: well...we are going to be in the ICU awhile longer but mostly trying to figure out his 'sodium' meds...I am thankful for that actually...still working on the withdrawls so we have a crabby little boy (poor guy)...Please keep praying for complete healing for his mind eyes and ears!

Nightly Update

Night update: Liam is still a little restless but easier to calm down and comfort. Still trying to figure out the weaning off drugs part. This part stinks to watch and I hate that he has to go through this but it's a part of the 'getting better' process. Liam did really good with his speach therapy (he's not talking at this point but they first work on mouth stuff like swallowing and relearnin...g how to eat). He has been making very positive progress towards being ready to try eating and getting rid of the food tube (this is a long process but we are at least moving forward in small steps:) Today he also turned on his side pushed up on his knees and turned onto his stomach on his own (he liked sleeping on his stomach better apparently:) this was a very good step for him-he's getting stronger each day...although he's such a wiggle worm now and is getting stronger we might have to move him to a crib so he doesn't wiggle right out of his bed. Please continue and believe with us for a complete healing for this sweet little boy. (We will worship while we wait!:)

Liam is having a hard time with the withdrawals from morphine. He was restless and agitated today. He seemed calmer as the day passed! Other than that no real big news today. Frank and Corinna are staying at the hospital tonight so I can sleep in a real bed. 22 days straight! I want everyone to know this. Please don't feel sorry for us. Stay strong in your faith that God is working on my son. If you don't have faith call me. I will try my best to explain what I have seen so that you to will have the faith I do. Keep praying. Keep the faith. Never ever give up. God is good..... Even in the valley of the shadow of death.

morning update:

Liam didnt sleep last night..bad withdrawls. docts are working on his sedation levels to wean him odd a little easier. sooo...that means we are in the ICU for the weekend but otherwise we are still looking good to go to the peds floor of the hospital in the near future. Please pray for Liam as he goes through this next phase...continue to earnestly pray for his eyes ears and mind. Thank you Jesus for another day

Luke 22:39-71. Something I have been thinking about the last few days. I know more than most the value of salvation and the gift of forgiveness. If anyone knows me they know I screw up on a regular basis and I am not a great example (I actually think jesus is the only one we should use as an example, but anyway) Through this I have seen my son suffer and nearly die and I will be honest I would not... let that happen if I had a choice even if it meant one hundred people lived. Think about that God made his son suffer and die for US. Even me. He would have done it for just me! Think about that. Jesus even asked him if there was any other way to do this, basically begging his father not to suffer. Wow. Not me man, I couldn't do that to my son. But he did it for us because he loves us that much. All you have to do is ask God to experience salvation and forgiveness. Some people might read this and have to double check if this is Casey kenrick's Facebook. Well, it is things change people change and I have. If you want to know more ask. Keep praying for Liam! So completely humbled and overwhelmed with the outpouring of generosity and encouragement, support, and most importantly of all PRAYERS that have been given to and shown to us during this time. God is defiantely using others to show His love for us. Thankful...no other word than that

Miracle Liam Updates

Updates from Liam's Daddy & Mommy:

Today was a busy day...I am exhausted but my heart is happy...excited for progress made today and excited for the work I know God is still doing in our boy. goals and therefore prayer targets:) : physical therapy (we will more likely than not be staying at a physical therapy inhouse place for 2 to 4 weeks after all the hospital stuff is under control to help him gain ...strength back and re learn to walk and such. also for any other physical issues he may have but of course praying against that and for healing), feeding tube- he will start the slow process of learning how to eat and drink -pray he is able (although it's looking good), withdrawls, comfort for him (he can only cry and whimper right now), pray for his eyes that do not see (but we r believing for that miracle) and for his ears to hear (hearing test coming soon) and last but not least a clear and healthy mind ...hear our cries Lord Jesus! Thank you for todays victories...we give you ALL the glory! They had said Liam probably wouldn't be able to breath on his own..."with man this is impossible with God all things are possible!

‎1 Corinthians 1:8-11. Some people say that "we will never be given more than we can handle". I hope I don't offend anyone but life is more than we can handle. Even Paul knew this. He knew we need GOD, prayer and hope, that will get us through anything, anything! There is no way I could have the strength to get through this without God, prayer and hope for better days and the healing power of our God. Liam had a good day today. Moving towards more healing. Thank you Lord for my son help me be a good father to him and the bun in the oven. Thank you for the chance to mold two men. Please give me wisdom to do it right. Keep praying he is listening, trust me!

God's moving ! Ready for some good news....Doct just came in and said since his sodium is being controlled by the smallest dose of medicing and his breathing is doing so well (just took him off all oxygen!) that as long as he stays good with no breathing help this may be our last day in the ICU! (we would g et moved to regular pediatrics floor) THANK YOU JESUS BEST NEWS SO FAR! Keep praying for h...is breathing please:) Cat scan results not back yet but really I don't care what they say...Jesus is healing our little boy...that old song keeps playing in my head "Went to the enemies camp and we took back what he stole from us...he's under our feet...he's under our feet..." ( i think thats how the words go) We are God's children bought with a price...covered in the blood of Jesus:) His word says ask and you shall recieve...knock and the door will be open...Thank you Jesus

Previous Updates:
Another good day for Mr.Liam and us...feeling God's strength and peace like never before (thanks for all the prayers for this btw!) Not a lot of news for ya tonight..but there will be plenty in the morning/afternoon...xrays, cat scan, etc. Liam has been making slow but steady progress with physical therapy. Please pray for that airway and vocal chords to heal in the name of Jesus! Pray for his mind and eyes and ears. Thanking you Lord for the victory today and some more positive steps forward! Please let Liam rest well and have a good night tonight!

Night update: Liam got to rest a lot today and was way more calm and comfortable..thank you Jesus! This will give his throat time to heal ...please pray for that and also his vocal chords. today was day 2 of physical therapy...He did better today than yesterday...they basically make him try to sit up. he started to get a tiny bit stronger and could hold his own head up for a second here and the...re...they helped him sit for a total of 5 minutes the 2nd session today! He is NOT a fan and cries the whole time (which is the saddest noise ever since his vocal chords arent quite working well) but hes getting stronger! Please pray for contd peace for us all, for Liams breathing issues (airway, vocal chords, deeper breaths,and lungs) , brain eyes and ears to be healed. whew...I think I covered all the major updates for today:) Thank you again for not giving up on praying for us...we love and appreciate you all!! And Jesus...we thank you again...for everything you've done and are doing!! It's all for your glory!

A New Day- Recent Update

Update from Liam's Mommy Sandy:

Doct morning update: not anymore bad news so I guess that's good news? Liam's xray showed his collapsed lung was now back opened but he is still breathing shallow...they put a camera down his nose to check on the swelling to see if there was any fixed damage from the tubes in his airway...so far it's just the swelling so far and also part of his vocal chords aren't working...so as of now no new t...ube we are just waiting another week to see how it does on it's own. The doct gave him a patch to help control suspected neurostorming and that should help him. Please pray for the swelling and vocal chords to get well (that will help the breathing), pray for his mind eyes and ears to be well...so thankful for everyone that has been so faithfully praying for our sweet boy and for us...today is a new day and we are still keeping our eyes on Jesus and trusting him!

Prayer Warriors Pray!!! Liam Updates

My nightly update: so tired of this roller coaster ride...thankful for getting to hold my baby, that was the positive for the day...everything else just seemed to be a pile of more worries and bad news and doubts. We are definately under attack with all of these thoughts...we know this. We are growing tired and need prayers to keep on keeping on...prayers for strength. We trust you Jesus and are trying soooo hard to look to you and not all these horrible things. Prayers are NEEDED tonight for our Liam...the requests are urgent: The swelling, his lungs, his brain issues, his eyes to see and ears to hear...they are making a lot of decisions based on tomorrow mornings findings...pray for another miracle to happen tonight...pray for some good news...wisdom for Liam's docts and nurses...trusting you Jesus.

Holding Liam for the First Time

God did give us something good this morning...first thing when I got to Liam's room Liam wasn't in his bed Casey wasHOLDING him:) I got my turn next ...thank you Lord for that!! Physical therapy helped him sit up for 2 minutes (he wasnt a fan) and they will be back to do it again in a few hours...Liam is still very out of it and weak. Haven't talked with the doct yet this morning but here are the... prayer targets so far for today: Liam needs to breathe deeper...his Xrays this morning show he's not using all his lungs, please pray for the swelling to go down in his throat and for him to stay calm, and again for his eyes and ears to see and hear and for a clear and healthy mind.....Thank you Jesus for your faithfulness! Thank you for all you are doing and will do for our Liam! We love you.

Update from Liam's Mommy & Daddy

Somedays are harder than others to keep your eyes fixed on Jesus...today was hard...but God is faithful. Liam struggled a lot with his breathing and was very upset...very hard for this momma to watch...I felt so helpless. Long story short...Liam eventually calmed down enough once the drugs kicked in...the specialist and doct both need him to stay sedated for a couple more days to allow the steriods to help the swelling in his throat...Please pray the swelling goes down on its own and we are praying against any airway scar-tissue. Thank you Jesus for holding my family during all this...please protect my Liam tonight and give him peace that only you can give.

im tired, worn out, impatient, frustrated, and angry. Good thing I have a bigger God than myself. every time I have need a reassurance from God, he has given it to me. please Lord let my lil buddy get fixed up so we can wrestle again, I miss my boy. Please Lord heal him and use this for your glory.

New Update

Update: More waiting (that song is now my new anthem 'Praise you while we are waiting") Liam is now calmed 'more drugs but so far minimal is working. He is breathing much better now. The specialist came to talk and they want to give him 3 more days of sedation\rest and steriods...I guess this is fairly common for people intubated this long and plus re-intubated. Praying for miraculous healing so he won't need a procedure at the end of the three days (that will be what is needed if the swelling doesn't go down on its own)...other prayer target: Liam needs his sodium levels to stay level...Thank you friends! (Still hanging on to you God!)

Prayer needed for Liam now: this morning Liam's breathing took a turn for the worse... Please pray for the swelling, for him to be calm and to feel God's peace, we need a miracle...I can't stand seeing him like this and we don't want to have to put that tube back in...hear our cries Jesus this morning....heal our boy!

tears of joy...the Lord answers prayers. Liam is resting...we can't touch him or anything for 4 to 6 hours to make sure he just sleeps and no chance for the swelling to come back....I can't say praise God enough! He is faithful. Please continue to pray for a full recovery and rest

Day of Resting- Update

Morning Doct update: Tube out tomorrow morning (maybe earlier but probably tomorrow). Weaning off the morphine ... that part is hard to watch and hard to do since they still don't want him moving around too much yet. One more day of rest for Liam. Please pray hard today for the things to come tomorrow...pray that he stays stable and strong, swelling to be gone, withdrawl symptoms be minimal or gone, his eyes to see and ears to hear....Thank you friends! Praying Jesus for a complete healing amd miracle...believing it! Thank you Jesus

morning Doct update:plan 24 hrs to 36 hours until we try taking the tubes out again. His lungs still look good and hes still swallowing (thankful!) Please pray for strength for our little man as he rests during this time and for everything to go smoothly this next time. Please continue to pray for wisdom and guidance for his nurses and doctors and for complete healing. Thank you Jesus again for getting us this far and thank you in advance for all you are continuing to do for Liam.

Liam's Update last night

Liam had a restful day...fairly uneventful and that was the goal. Praying for swelling to dissapear in his throat and of course still his brain, for him to stay calm and breath calmly when they finally do take the tube out, pray for him to come off the drugs easier this time around, and for his little eyes and ears to work how they should. Please continue to pray for wisdom for our nurses and doctors. Thanking God for all the Godly men and women he has put in our lives (even ones we havent even met) to pray for our Liam and help hold us up in prayers!

Liam Update from his Daddy!

Liam got a blood transfusion today, that seems to be taken well. He is getting off the morphine again and is dealign with some withdrawl symptoms. Pray that my little man continues to having the strength to continue this fight! To God be the glory!

Updates on Liam

Setback (or more time for him to heal)....breathing tube is going back in as we speak...they will be using a smaller tubes and more steroids...I'm bummed tht we are a step back but relieved he is not going to be suffering tonight and will have time to rest before we try again in the future...We are still resting in you God...carry us through this Jesus...give our Liam strength.

Feeling at peace this morning as I wake up...the breathing tube he had in since Rapid was very large (according to his doct here) they actually went down 2 sizes last nigh! no wonder he had swelling poor baby...Gods in control and we still haven't quit believing for a complete healing for our boy. Thankful Liam has time to heal and help breathing until the swelling goes down...

A soup and salad benefit dinner and silent auction is being held for Liam Kenrick and family. Liam is 2 ½ years old and is fighting bacterial meningitis at the Sanford Children’s Hospital in Sioux Falls. Liam’s mother (Sandy) is a third grade teacher at Wilson Elementary, and is also pregnant with their second child, due in April. Casey (Liam’s father) is a deputy with the Pennington County Sheriff’s Department.

All proceeds from this event will be given to the Kenrick’s to help with their medical expenses.

Praying for Peace, Sight, & Hearing

Doct morning update : Picc line put in, ventilator off later this afternoon (they are letting him practice as we speak with no help from the machine but of course the tube is still in and he is doing great...PRAISE GOD!) they are taking more tubes out of him and there is a chance i will get to hold my baby in the next few days...what a blessing!! Prayer targets : everything to go smoothly with t...he Picc line, and ventilator. Salt levels and blood levels to stay good, and for little Liam to feel God's peace and presence as he wakes up more and more. Pray for the swelling to keep going down and for his little eyes and ears...Thank you Jesus for the miracle child..we love you and give you all the glory!

Prayer Request from Liam's Mommy Sandy:

A mommy's prayer request...They told me Liam was going to be 'irriatable' as the sedation was weaned off but it's hard to see...Liam can't see or talk right now (praying to see that miracle too) and he is getting so upset and trying to cry...they did give him a medicine to help calm him but please pray for my baby to have the peace only the Lord can give. Also, they have been having problems with his cathitor (sp?) again because of all the sediment in his urine...pray for the sediments to be gone in the name of Jesus. Thank you!! (Praise God we are at this point to...getting him ready to be off the ventilator)

MIRACLE HEALING UPDATE FOR LIAM

Here is the recent update from Liam's Mommy & Daddy:

Doc update: the goals-Less sedation, breathing tube out in 24 to 48 hours, physical therapy (since hes been laying so long, and this was the first time we have heard a "doctor" say "for when he goes home" We are still a ways away from that but THANK YOU JESUS FOR YOUR FAITHFULNESS! we love you and continue to trust in you for the complete healing of our son. Prayer targets: blood levels and salt levels, comfort for Liam as he comes off sedation, continued prayer for the swelling to go down (they think its started to), and for the ventilator plan... thank you friends .... and thank you Jesus!

Morning update from the doc't: He was encouraged again by the progress even from yesterday. Todays goal...continue to turn down the ventilator to see how he will breathe on his own. Prayer targets: of course continued prayer for the swelling, he needs to swallow his spit before he can breathe on his own, his hemoglobin blood level is low (from all the blood tests they draw)and there is talk of a blood transfusion for tomorrow (the doct was actually surprised we havent had to have one yet!) , pray for his eyes and hearing...thank you for not giving up in praying friends...pray without ceasing! Thank you jesus for your peace and healing! We love you.

Morning update from the doc: same goal as yesterday pretty much...one more day of rest to let the swelling keep going down...Liam's goals today: needs to poop (already has once), continue the full feedings (tube), and by the end of the day turn down the ventilator just a tad to see if he will initiate the breaths on his own. prayer targets for today: no swelling in the ...name of Jesus, poop:), stable day, initiate breaths, heal any damage. thank you Jesus for holding us through this time and for the miracle you are doing in our precious little man!! His pupils are also starting to respond to light!

Recent Update:

Liam had an ok day. he had a slight temp. but seems to be controlled by tylenol. he seems to be comfortable. the Dr said he might try to start taking him off the ventilator on Saturday. he is still in critical condition and needs yoiur prayers! I pray that he can someday tell everyone how God did a miracle in him!

Joy comes in the morning: update. as the doct did his morning evaluation\chat...he informed us he is encouraged by the movement and the progress Liam is making...in my opinion he seemed surprised (I'm not...God is our healer) and he says some of the things going on with Liam is not wht he 'normally' would see in his case. next steps: letting Liam rest a couple of days and up the feedings...letti...ng the swelling go down more (it's still at a critical point) then they will work on getting him off the breathing tubes. Prayer targets: no swelling, no damage, his eyes to react normally, and rest for little Liam...Thank u Lord for this news ..thank you for all the miracles you are already doing and are going to do! We love you!

God gave me the word "believe" today...I've been saying it over and over...I believe you can do miracles Jesus and that you are going to do one in Liam. We give you all the glory. Updates From Sandy- Small Signs of Hope

From Liam's Mommy Sandy:
after the hardest night of my life...I came back to the hospital and Liam was still off sedation (good sign)...i could hold his hand...hes been responding better today...small hope...but we have a big God. he still is out of it but there is still a lot of swelling...please pray for the swelling to go down and vanish and not to increase...please dont give up the prayers on out little man...Our God is a God who can heal...

Please continue to keep PRAYING FOR A MIRACLE FOR BABY LIAM!!!! We serve a MIGHTY & POWERFUL GOD that CAN and WILL HEAL LIAM!!! Please also pray for strength for his parents Sandy and Casey as they wait!

Praying Update

Update: had the dreaded meeting with the doctor...the MRI showed more damage then the previous one...there is alot of swelling and permanant damage...we were asked to make some tough decisions...according to the doctors Liam has 3 options tht could happen...he could die, he could make it through this but with extreme handicaps, or we could choose for him...surprisingly Casey and i had peace...i fe...lt that God was whispering to us (all day in fact) wait...trust me ...over and over again...prayer request...Liams only option is a miracle...we want him to live...life is precious...praying that God makes the decision for us for him to live (a miracle) or to take him home peacefully...never thought those words would come out of this mommy's mouth. unreal. Hear our cry oh Lord...we are waiting and trusting.

Please pray for a MIRACLE and PEACE for his parents. As a parents we cannot imagine what they are going through!!! We serve a mighty God and Believe he has a plan for Liam's life.

Update: they are now monitoring seizures...still waiting on MRI results. will take off sedation soon to see whts been affected...prayer is our only hope because the docts arent leaving much hope for him....PRAY! our only hope is in the Lord

Updates from Sandy & Casey- NEEDING PRAYERS

Here is the latest updates from Sandy and Casey:

Prayer warriors pray...update: hes pretty much the same this morning...not reponding to things like he should...he had a seizure early this morning but is stable now...MRI sometime this morning...we need a miracle...praying and believing for one that the damage is gone...i miss my little man...miss his voice his smiles and his hugs...i want him back Lord!

Please everyone pray for a miracle for Liam, and also strength for his parents as they are broken and need some signs of hope for their little boy!

It is looking like they are going to be at Children's Hospital for at least another month. Please donate anything you can to help them as well. Thank you to all that already have and I know that they are extremely thankful for your prayers and support!!!

NEED POWER PRAYERS!!!

Liam did not have a good night last night and there is more swelling around his brain. He is now back to being in critical condition. They are needing to do another MRI, however he is currently not stable enough to do it. Please Power Pray for Liam that the swelling will go down, for Sandy to not have anymore contractions, and for strength for Casey and Sandy!!!

We serve a God who does and has been doing miracles in Liam already! Please continue to Pray for more miracles today!!!

PRAISE GOD- Updates from Sandy & Casey FB

Here are the most recent updates from Sandy & Casey:

Liam's spinal fluid test came back negative which means the antibiotic killed the bacteria! Now we have to wait for the inflammation around his brain to go down. He has been moving alot today reacting to things the nurses are doing. This is another positive! He has a LONG way to go but he is my baby boy and he is a strong lil man. Can't wait to hug you again buddy!

Keep sandy in your prayers too. She is in the other side of the hospital getting checked out.

God is answering all of our prayers! Please keep them coming!!!

Liam's fever broke today at about 2pm. He also has been move arms and legs in response to nurses moving him and stuff. We hope this continues and improves. All indicates that the antibiotics are working! I'm sure there will be setbacks and I know he is not out of the woods but I asked good for more good news and he answered. Keep those prayers coming!
